# What are the options available for non-contact measurement?

## Non-contact measurement

Advantages of non-contact measurement are that it is wear-free, the replacement of troublesome linear potentiometers with more reliable technologies and the cost-effectiveness over the total machine lifetime.

Options available in Balluff portfolio are:

- Magnetically coded BML
- Magneto strictive BTL
- Inductive BIP and BAW
- Photoelectric BOD
