# What is the meaning of Hysteresis with respect to proximity sensor?

## Hysteresis

The Hysteresis is the distance difference between switch-on point ( object approaches the front of the sensor ) and switch-off point ( object moves away from the sensor head-on ) .

It is measured at an ambient temperature of  20 ° C ± 5 ° C  and must be less than 20% of the nominal sensing distance.
