# Can we connect 2 BIC inductive couplers in series?

## Inductive coupler connecting in series

- Two Balluff Inductive Coupler BIC systems can be connected in series.
- But this **cuts the power in half** from 500 mA to **250 mA**.
- The maximum cable length between the individual components must be ≤ 20 m.
- Angular offset can no longer be guaranteed and the maximum air gap = 5mm.
- Therefore, the systems should be positioned accurately.
