What is the compatibility mode and busy mode for BML-S1G with an absolute quadrature interface?

BML-S1G with absolute quadrature interface

Compatibility Mode:

In compatibility mode BML-S1G with Absolute Quadrature interface is fully compatible with standard incremental A/B/Z input cards.

  • Following the power-on delay time a Z-signal is set to trigger the zero position at the receiver side (t2-t3);
  • Afterwards A/B increments are sent at highest speed (min. edge separation) until the incremental position has reached the physical position (t3-t4);
  • Subsequent A/B increments are sent according to the physical movement of the system (t4).

Busy Mode:

The busy mode works with controllers and input electronics which is able to sent and evaluate external trigger signals. Busy mode is usually used together with activated VHrequest1) input.
  • Following the power-on delay time a Busy signal is set high to trigger the zero position at the receiver side (t2);
  • Afterwards A/B increments are sent at highest speed (min. edge separation) until the incremental position has reached the physical position (t3-t4);
  • The Busy signal is set low (t4);
  • Subsequent A/B increments are sent according to the physical movement of the system (t4).
