Start/stop P Interface
With P interface the time measurement is performed in the processor unit or control unit.
The measurement is initiated via the INIT pulse, and the BTL returns both the INIT and STOP signals (depending on the 1 or n positions setting). This method was introduced to be not depending on the line length (causes different delay times), between BTL and processor.
The high immunity of the connection between the displacement transducer and the processor unit or PLC is ensured by differential drivers of the RS-485/422 interface. Any disturbed interference is blurred by the differentiation.
